Gold Extraction from an Oxide Ore by Thiourea Leaching with Hydrogen Peroxide as an Oxidant

open access: yesRussian Journal of Non-Ferrous Metals = Izvestiya VUZ. Tsvetnaya Metallurgiya, 2021
In this study, the effects of thiourea (CH4N2S) on the efficiency of gold dissolution were investigated for the extraction of gold from an oxide gold ore of the eastern Anatolia region, Turkey.

Reaction chemistry of gold leaching in thiourea solution for a Turkish gold ore

open access: yesHydrometallurgy, 2002
This study was carried out on a finely disseminated gold-bearing ore from Kaymaz, Turkey. The main objective was to determine the mechanism of reaction between thiourea and Fe 31 in the thiourea leaching of gold.

A REVIEW OF GOLD LEACHING IN ACID THIOUREA SOLUTIONS

Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy Review, 2006
Since the initial report of thiourea as a complexing reagent for gold leaching, considerable research has been directed toward the use of thiourea as an alternative to cyanide for gold extraction from different auriferous mineral resources. At the same time, some fundamental investigations of the system have been reported.

Gold Leaching in an Alkaline Thiourea Solution

Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1999
Gold leaching by thiourea has been investigated in an alkaline solution. In the presence of both Na 2 SO 3 and Na 2 S 2 O 8 , the chemical dissolution of gold can be accomplished in the alkaline thiourea solution. It was found that used as a buffer, SO 2- 3 can prevent thiourea from further decomposing into some insoluble species in contact with the

Catalytic effect of ethylene thiourea on the leaching of chalcopyrite

Hydrometallurgy, 2020
Abstract Chalcopyrite leaching in acidic ferric sulfate media was improved by addition of ethylene thiourea (ETU) in shaking flask tests with the iron-oxidizing bacterium acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans. In bioreactor experiments, ETU was able to solubilize the chalcopyrite even after the mineral was pre-leached under non-catalytic conditions. Surface

Technology of Gold Extraction from Mature Dumps by Thiourea Leaching

Russian Journal of Non-Ferrous Metals, 2020
Tajikistan has a large volume of gold-containing dumps, which on conversion to gold equals ~18 t. These dumps are products of amalgamation and cyanidation processes, resulting from treating the ores from Tarorskoe, one of the largest deposits in Tajikistan, and from a few other nearby deposits: Dzhilau, Khirskhon, and Olimpiiskoe.

GOLD LEACHING BY USE OF AN N,N′-DISUBSTITUTED THIOUREA

Separation Science and Technology, 2001
A novel reagent for gold leaching was synthesized and the leaching conditions investigated. The reagent, 1-phenyl-2-thio-3-(2-hydroxyethyl) urea, dissolved gold at relatively high yields (>95%) in the presence of an oxidant (Fe(III)) in a sulfuric acid solution at pH 0.9–1.2 at room temperature.

Leaching of gold from a chalcopyrite concentrate by thiourea

Hydrometallurgy, 1988
Abstract A gold containing chalcopyrite concentrate has been treated with thiourea using H 2 SO 4 . The effects of some leach parameters such as thiourea concentration, oxidizing agents, redox potential, pH, temperature, pulp density, acid pretreatment and SO 2 addition have been investigated.
