A comparative study of cyanide and thiourea-oxalate leaching from Sinaloa gold ore

open access: yesMRS Advances
The State of Sinaloa, in Mexico, has significant gold deposits, which are exploited by artisanal miners using mercury. This process is dangerous, inefficient, and restricted, limiting gold recovery (30%) and excluding the extraction of silver and other ...

Leaching of gold in acid thiourea-thiocyanate solutions using ferric sulfate as oxidant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
manuscriptThe leaching of gold in ferric-thiourea-thiocyanate solutions has been studied by the rotating-disk technique. The effects of initial concentrations of ferric, thiourea (Tu), thiocyanate, temperature and pH value on gold leaching rate were ...

Superiority of Thiourea Au Extraction from Low Graphiticity Carbonaceous Gold Ores

open access: yesJournal of MMIJ
Double refractory gold ores (DRGOs), in which few percentages of carbonaceous matter are present and gold grains are encapsulated in sulfides, have been abandoned to develop due to economic loss caused by adsorption of Au(CN)2− on carbonaceous matter ...

Advanced MXene‐Based Multifunctional Nanoarchitecture Materials Engineered for Adsorptive Cleanup of Hazardous Radioactive Pollutants: A Comprehensive Critical Review

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 19, 6 October 2026.
This work critically reviews MXenes as highly effective multifunctional nanomaterials for the adsorption of radio‐contaminants, demonstrating a remarkable adsorption capacity of up to 1376.75 mg/g and cyclic stability of 2–8 cycles, with complexation, electrostatic interactions, and the numerical strength of MXene active sites playing a key operational

Coordination‐Tuned Iridium Single‐Atom Nanozymes Boost Multienzyme Activity for Colorimetric Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 55, 5 October 2026.
Breaking the coordination symmetry of Ir single‐atom sites through asymmetric Ir–N3S1 engineering tailors interfacial electron transfer, oxygen activation, and multienzyme‐like catalytic pathways. Operando spectroscopy and theoretical modeling uncover the atomic‐level origin of activity enhancement, providing a strategy for designing multifunctional ...

1-(2,6-Dichlorobenzoyl)-3-(2,3,5,6-tetrachlorophenyl)thiourea trichloromethane hemisolvate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The title compound, C14H6Cl6N2OS·0.5CHCl3, crystallizes with four 1-(2,6-dichlorobenzoyl)-3- (2,3,5,6-tetrachlorophenyl)thiourea molecules and two trichloromethane molecules in the asymmetric unit. The thiourea molecules exist in the solid state in their

Rare‐Earth–Sulfur Surface Modification Enables SiC Ceramics for Low‐Frequency Electromagnetic Wave Absorption in Extreme Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 55, 5 October 2026.
By altering surface chemical bonds to prolong relaxation time and shift absorption to lower frequencies, SiC/rare earth–sulfur (RE─S, RE = La, Ce, Pr, Sm, Gd, Er) materials achieve excellent low‐frequency electromagnetic wave absorption under extreme conditions, offering a new direction for designing high‐performance SiC‐based absorbers.

Extraction of gold from an Indian low-grade refractory gold ore through physical beneficiation and thiourea leaching

open access: yes, 2003
The work carried out on the processing of a low-grade and refractory gold ore using thiourea is presented. Direct leaching of the “as-received” ore with thiourea has yielded only 16% gold extraction.

The Recovery of Silver from Thiourea Leaching Solution by Cementation Technique [PDF]

open access: yesEconomic and Environmental Geology, 2013
In order to apply the silver cementation method using Fe powder from pregnant thiourea leaching solution. Parameters such as the amount of Fe powder addition, agitation speed, and temperature were investigated. The silver cementation rate was increased by the increasing of Fe powder addition, agitation speed, and temperature.
