PRELIVE: A Framework for Predicting Lipid Nanoparticles In Vivo Efficacy and Reducing Reliance on Animal Testing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PREdicting LNP In Vivo Efficacy (PRELIVE) framework enables the prediction of lipid nanoparticle (LNPs) organ‐specific delivery through dual modeling approaches. Composition‐based models using formulation parameters and protein corona‐based models using biological fingerprints both achieve high predictive accuracy across multiple organs.

Injectable Dual‐Network Hydrogel System for Osteochondral Repair Combining Immunomodulation, Mechanical Adaptability, and Enhanced Tissue Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A UV‐triggered injectable dual‐network hydrogel is reported as the first application of bletilla striata polysaccharide (BSP) in osteochondral repair. By integrating methacrylamide‐modified BSP and nitrobenzaldehyde‐functionalized hyaluronic acid, the system achieves immunomodulation, mechanical reinforcement, and dynamic tissue adhesion, thereby ...

The impact of extraction vs. non-extraction orthodontic treatment on the angulation of third molars on panoramic radiographs: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesProgress in Orthodontics
Background The angulation of third molars is a critical factor influencing the likelihood of impaction. Orthodontic premolar extractions have been hypothesized to affect the eruption path of developing third molars by modifying available space and mesial

Effects of first premolar extraction on maxillary and mandibular third molar angulation after orthodontic therapy

open access: yesJournal of Oral Biology and Craniofacial Research, 2012
Background/Aims: To compare the change in the angulation of developing mandibular third molar in both first premolar extraction and non-extraction cases and to determine whether premolar extraction results in a more mesial movement of the mandibular ...

Covalent Organic Frameworks for Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: Metal Integration Principles, Strategies and Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with metals have been recognized as versatile platforms for photocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2PRR). Herein, an overview of metal integration strategies for COFs is systematically summarized. Regulatory mechanisms and structure–activity relationships between metal integration and COF‐based CO2PRR are emphasized.

Evaluation of angular and positional changes of maxillary third molars following premolar extraction, molar distalization, and non-extraction treatments

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Background To compare the effects of first premolar extraction, molar distalization, and non-extraction treatments on the angulation and vertical positions of maxillary second molars (MxM2s) and maxillary third molars (MxM3s).

Evaluation of the Distal Periodontal Bone Defect Associated with Lower Third Molar Extraction

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Background: Dental impaction requires careful consideration prior to extraction. Factors influencing the decision to extract an impacted tooth include the depth of impaction, proximity to vital structures, patient age, systemic conditions, and compliance.

High Entropy Wide‐Bandgap Borates with Broadband Luminescence and Large Nonlinear Optical properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy rare‐earth borates exhibit excellent nonlinear optical and broadband luminescence properties arising from multi‐component doping, chemical disorder, increased configurational entropy, and increased lattice and electronic anharmonicity. This formulation enabled us to obtain a large, environmentally stable single crystal with 3X higher laser‐

Flap repositioning versus conventional suturing in third molar surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Objectives: A comparative study is made of two types of flaps in semi-impacted third molar surgery and their relation to the postoperative period (pain, swelling and trismus).

Nano‐ and Micro‐Sized Solid Materials Used as Antiviral Agents

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Due to the rise of viral infections in humans and possible viral outbreaks, the use of nano‐ or micro‐sized materials as antiviral agents is rapidly increasing. This review explores their antiviral properties against RNA and DNA viruses, either as a prevention or a treatment tool, by delving into their mechanisms of action and how to properly assess ...
