The undecidability of unification in third order logic
The problem of the existence of a unifying substitution between two terms is considered in type theory. This problem is shown to be undecidable, even if we restrict the objects of the language to third order. This means that we are not able to recognize whether two terms have a common instance or not.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Prevalence Projection in 2040: A Less Rare Disease
ABSTRACT Objective To project ALS prevalence across multiple countries through 2040, accounting for both population aging and increased survival. Methods Data from the Piemonte and Valle d'Aosta ALS register (PARALS) was used to estimate the trends in incidence and prevalence from 2005 to 2019. Survival trends over this period were also assessed.

Stability for a third order Sine-Gordon equation [PDF]
We first analyze an initial-boundary-value problem for a nonlinear higher order equation. Then, we discuss several stability properties basing on the Liapunov second method. We give examples from the Superconductor Theory and Quantum Mechanics. Moreover,

ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the utility of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers—matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP‐9), tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases‐1 (TIMP‐1), the MMP‐9/TIMP‐1 ratio, and osteopontin (OPN)—as indicators of blood–brain barrier (BBB) integrity and disease activity in people with relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (pwMS ...

The Relationship Between Inflammation and Central Nervous System in Multiple Sclerosis
ABSTRACT Aim Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune demyelination disease that is seen especially in the young population and has a progressive course, causing motor, sensory, and cognitive deficits. In the literature, the pathogenesis of MS disease and the interconnection between the immune and central nervous system in the disease have not been fully ...

Improved oscillation conditions for third-order neutral type difference equations
In this article, we study the oscillatory behavior of the third-order neutral type difference equation $$ \Delta(a_n(\Delta^2(x_n+p_nx_{n-k}))^{\alpha})+q_nf(x_{n-l})=0 $$ where $\alpha>0$, $a_n>0$, $q_n\geq 0$ and $0\leq p_n\leq ...

Periodic solutions of third order differential equations
In this paper, we study the existence of periodic solutions for the following piecewise third-order differential equation: $$ \dddot{x}+\dot{x}-\varepsilon\sum\limits_{i=1}^{2}c_i|x|^i=0, $$ with $\varepsilon$ a real parameter sufficiently small, $c_1$
