Natural Biomaterials for Osteochondral Repair: From Source to Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Biological origin‐guided overview of natural biomaterials and therapeutic strategies for osteochondral tissue engineering. The circular diagram categorizes representative materials and strategies into plant/algae‐derived, microbial‐derived, animal‐derived, and human‐derived sources, centered on an osteochondral defect repair model.

G3BP1 Succinylation at K413 is Critical for Cardiac Function by Modulating PI3K‐AKT‐mTOR Signal Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic illustrating the impact of G3BP1 succinylation at K413 on cardiac function. In the healthy human heart, G3BP1 succinylation maintains homeostatic mTOR signaling. In patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and heart failure (HF), G3BP1 de‐succinylation induces RagA expression and disrupts the binding of the TSC1/2 complex, leading to the ...

THIRD PARTY SANCTIONS IN GAMES WITH COMMUNICATION

open access: yesStudies in Logic, Grammar and Rhetoric, 2017
This paper discusses the relation between communication and preservation of social norms guarded by third-party sanctions. In 2001 Jonathan Bendor and Piotr Swistak derived deductively the existence of such norms from a simple boundedly rational choice ...

Large‐Scale Genomics Reveals Three‐Source Ancestry and Layered Adaptation to High Altitude in Tibetan Chickens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome analysis of 1,054 chickens reveals three ancestral sources (NWC, SYA, and SHF) with distinct temporal entry patterns into the Tibetan Plateau. Route‐specific selection scans, calibrated against a demographic null, suggest complementary functional enrichments—vascular homeostasis (NWC), calcium signaling and cardiac adaptation (SYA), and ...

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.

Selective Interfacial Barriers Drive High‐Performance GeTe Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Carrier‐phonon decoupling is the key to developing high‐performance thermoelectric materials. Here, we demonstrate that selective interfacial barriers can decouple carrier and phonon transport, thus achieving an exceptional peak ZT of ∼2.7 at 773 K, along with a record‐high average ZT of 1.9 across 300–773 K in the (Ge0.82Mn0.04Bi0.04Pb0.1Te)0.99(VSe2 ...

I/You: Reciprocity, Gift-giving, and the Third Party [PDF]

open access: yesMeta: Research in Hermeneutics, Phenomenology and Practical Philosophy, 2010
This essay first examines the issue of intersubjectivity in terms of the paradigmatic relationship between I and You. From a grammaticalstandpoint this relationship seems asymmetrical as well as necessarilyperformative: I implies the speech act of the ...
