Increased Expression of Desmin and Vimentin Impairs Mitochondrial Function and Reduces Contractility via G0S2 in Bladder Smooth Muscle

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 20, 31 October 2026.
Our previous study demonstrated that elevated levels of desmin and vimentin reduce BSM contractility. This study shows that the reduced BSM contractility is associated with mitochondrial impairment. G0/G1 switch gene 2 (G0S2) is upregulated in desmin‐ and vimentin‐overexpressing BSM.

Charting Cervical Spinal Cord Morphometry Across the Lifespan

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 47, Issue 15, October 15, 2026.
From large multi‐site lifespan data, we segment C1–C7 and derive morphometric measures (area, diameters, shape). Normative centile charts summarize population trajectories across age and sex and provide a practical scoring framework to quantify where an individual lies relative to expected variation.
