A Framework for Assurance of Medication Safety using Machine Learning [PDF]

Medication errors continue to be the leading cause of avoidable patient harm in hospitals. This paper sets out a framework to assure medication safety that combines machine learning and safety engineering methods. It uses safety analysis to proactively identify potential causes of medication error, based on expert opinion.

Abstract Purpose Methods have been developed that apply image processing to 4DCTs to generate 4DCT‐ventilation/perfusion lung imaging. Traditional methods for 4DCT‐ventilation rely on Hounsfield‐Unit (HU) density‐change methods and suffer from poor numerical robustness while not providing 4DCT‐perfusion data.

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics

Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.
