Measurment of radon, thoron and their progeny in indoor environment of Mohali, Punjab, Northern India, using pinhole dosimeters [PDF]
The health hazards of radon and its decay products above certain levels are well known. However, for any preventive measures to be taken, we have to be aware of radon levels of that particular area. Measurement of radon and its decay products in

QUANTIFICATION OF BACK DIFFUSION IN RADON AND THORON EXHALATION RATE MEASUREMENTS
Abstract The radon (222Rn) and thoron (220Rn) fluxes from the soil and building materials are the major contributors to their indoor levels. Hence, the measurement of radon and thoron exhalation rates from the source matrix becomes the foremost step in controlling the indoor radon and thoron exposure.

New Applications in Gas Geochemistry
Gases present in the Earth crust are important in various branches of human activities. Hydrocarbons are a significant energy resource, helium is applied in many high‐tech instruments, and studies of crustal gas dynamics provide insight in the geodynamic processes and help monitor seismic and volcanic hazards.

This study investigated the effects of dwelling type, wall and floor coverings, radium‐226 concentration, soil moisture, and radon exhalation on indoor radon‐222 levels in the gold‐mining community of Akyempim, Ghana. Indoor radon was monitored using CR‐39 solid‐state nuclear track detectors deployed in 144 rooms across 21 sites for 90 days ...

Exposure to radon‐222 (222Rn) and its decay products poses a significant public health risk. 222Rn tends to accumulate in poorly ventilated areas, underground spaces, and caves, which justifies the existence of international reference levels for its annual average indoor concentrations.

Exploring Seasonal Variation of Indoor Radon in Campania: Preliminary Findings
This study focuses on the indoor radon gas monitoring in 30 residences in Campania to evaluate seasonal variability. Approximately 570 CR‐39 solid‐state detectors were employed. Measurements were taken monthly, quarterly, semiannually, and annually, starting in October 2022 and ending in September 2023.
