Samples of surface soil were collected at 73 sites in the Thrace region, northwest part of Turkey. Two complementary analytical techniques, epithermal neutron activation analysis (ENAA) and atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) with flame and graphite furnace atomization were used to determine 35 elements in the soil samples.

Status of Freshwater Crayfish Distribution in Thrace Region of Turkey

This review focuses on the present distribution of two crayfish species: narrow-clawed crayfish Astacus leptodactylus Eschscholtz and stone crayfish Austropotamobius torrentium (Schrank, 1803) in Thrace region of Turkey. The only known native (indigenous) freshwater crayfish species of Turkey is A. leptodactylus.

Lichens of the thrace region of Turkey

This paper gives the distribution of lichens in the Thrace region determined in this study and in nine previous studies as well. The genus Placidiopsis (Verrucariaceae) is recorded for the first time in Turkey and thirty-three of the species are recorded for the first time for the region.
