Imbalanced Surface Charge Induced Phase Segregation in Mixed Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The key factor determining the phase segregation in mixed halide perovskites (MHP) is the intrinsic imbalanced surface charges in the crystal lattice. MHP films with excellent crystallinity and surface morphology can suffer severe phase segregation.

Highly‐Entangled Hydrogel Electrolyte for Fast Charging/Discharging Properties in Aqueous Zinc Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A highly‐entangled polyacrylamide (HE‐PAM) hydrogel is designed as an aqueous electrolyte for the fast charging/discharging properties in Zn/MnO2 batteries. Such hydrogel electrolyte possessed excellent mechanical characters, stable cycling capability, and superb rate performance under high current densities. These characters can also be applied in the

Analysis of Sporulation in Bacillus cereus Biovar anthracis Which Contains an Insertion in the Gene for the Sporulation Factor σK

open access: yesPathogens, 2023
Bacillus cereus biovar anthracis (Bcbva) is an untypical pathogen causing a fatal anthrax-like disease in a variety of wildlife species in African rainforest areas. In contrast to Bacillus anthracis and most species of the B. cereus group, all strains of

The Threat of Rabies

open access: yesJournal of the Royal College of Physicians of London, 1977
Rabies encephalitis in man cannot be cured and so must be prevented. Rabies can be kept out of Britain by enforcing quarantine regulations and preventing the smuggling of pet animals. If rabies were reintroduced there would be a severe risk of the virus becoming established in wild foxes.

Non‐Enzymatic Destruction of the Extracellular Matrix for Activatable Orthotopic Tumor Treatment and Enhanced Drug Penetration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Supramolecular biomimetic nanoaggregates (HFCu NAs), constructed with fluorinated histidine and copper ions via metal coordination and aromatic packing, exhibit enhanced reactive oxygen species (ROS)generation at tumor sites, which results in stepwise collapse of the extracellular matrix (ECM), affording tumor microenvironment responsive “turn‐on” 19F ...

Planthopper salivary sheath protein LsSP1 contributes to manipulation of rice plant defenses

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Salivary elicitors secreted by herbivorous insects can be perceived by host plants to trigger plant immunity. Here, the authors show that the small brown planthopper salivary sheath protein LsSP1 binds to salivary sheath proteins and contributes to ...
