ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Thermo-Diffusion and Chemical Reaction Effects on MHD Three Dimensional Free Convective Couette Flow
In this paper, the effects of thermo-diffusion and chemical reaction on a 3 dimensional free convection couette flow of a viscous incompressible and electrically conducting fluid, in the presence of a uniform magnetic field and heat absorption, are ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Three‐dimensional modeling of flow through microvascular beds and surrounding interstitial spaces
The health and function of microvascular beds are dramatically impacted by the mechanical forces that they experience due to fluid flow. These fluid flow‐generated forces are challenging to measure directly and are typically calculated from experimental ...

Singularities of Three-Dimensional Ricci Flows
The Ricci flow is an evolution of a Riemannian metric driven by a parabolic PDEs and was introduced by Hamilton in 1982. It has been the fundamental tool for some important achievements in geometry in the early 2000s, such as Perelman’s proof of the geometrization conjecture and Brendle–Schoen’s proof of the differentiable sphere theorem.
