Three dimensional laminar boundary layer with small cross-flow [PDF]
Important problems involving three-dimensional boundary layer occur in almost all internal and external aerodynamic configurations. For many of these, the flow outside the boundary layer may be resolved into a large principal component and a small ...

A three dimensional non-hydrostatic model for turbulent air flow
A finite-volume code is developed to compute the turbulent airflow over small- scale complex terrain. A pressure-correction algorithm is used to solve the three-dimensional non-hydrostatic flow equations. The turbulent transport is simulated by the k- €

Experimental Study on a Three-Dimensional Wall Jet
This study is to clarify the flow structure of a three-dimensional wall jet discharged tangentially on a flat surface from a circular nozzle. Distributions of the mean velocities and fluctuating velocities in a cross section of a fully-developed flow ...

THREE DIMENSIONAL FLOW STRUCTURES AROUND A DEEP SCOUR HOLE
The existence of a planform vortex is considered to be the cause of development and sustention of large-scale local scouring in the Kiso River. In order to make clear the 3D flow structures in this deep local scour, we conducted a field observation and ...

Orthogonal, solenoidal, three-dimensional vector fields for no-slip boundary conditions [PDF]
Viscous fluid dynamical calculations require no-slip boundary conditions. Numerical calculations of turbulence, as well as theoretical turbulence closure techniques, often depend upon a spectral decomposition of the flow fields.

Three-dimensional Stokes flow [PDF]
A method is present for simplifying the calculation of steady Stokes flows. It is applicable for domains which are essentially half spaces and utilizes a special vector stream potential to decouple the boundary conditions. The results are applied to estimate the effect of no-shear zones on a shear flow.

On the Three Dimensional Interaction between Flexible Fibers and Fluid Flow
In this paper we discuss the deformation of a flexible fiber clamped to a spherical body and immersed in a flow of fluid moving with a speed ranging between 0 and 50 cm/s by means of three dimensional numerical simulation developed in COMSOL .

Simulation of Three-Dimensional Flow Field around Unconventional Bridge Piers [PDF]
The study presents a three-dimensional numerical simulation of turbulent flow field around unconventional bridge piers which are downstream-facing round- nosed (DS-FRNP) and upstream- facing round- nosed (US-FRNP) and are compared with a circular pier in
