Magnifying absolute instruments for optically homogeneous regions
We propose a class of magnifying absolute optical instruments with a positive isotropic refractive index. They create magnified stigmatic images, either virtual or real, of optically homogeneous three-dimensional spatial regions within geometrical optics.

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Common lines ab-initio reconstruction of $D_2$-symmetric molecules
Cryo-electron microscopy is a state-of-the-art method for determining high-resolution three-dimensional models of molecules, from their two-dimensional projection images taken by an electron microscope. A crucial step in this method is to determine a low-

dUTPases are involved in balancing the appropriate nucleotide pools. We showed that dUTPase is essential for normal development in zebrafish. The different zebrafish genomes contain several single‐nucleotide variations (SNPs) of the dut gene. One of the dUTPase variants displayed drastically lower protein stability and catalytic efficiency as compared ...

Screen of cylindrical lenses produces stereoscopic television pictures [PDF]
Stereoscopic television pictures are produced by placing a colorless, transparent screen of adjacent parallel cylindrical lenses before a raster from two synchronized TV cameras. Alternate frames from alternate cameras are displayed.

Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Three-dimensional Image Segmentation using Tissue-like P System
Membrane computing (MC), which abstracts computational models from the structure and functioning of biological cells or population of cells in tissues, has served as a rich framework for handling many problems.

Spatial transformations of diffusion tensor magnetic resonance images [PDF]
The authors address the problem of applying spatial transformations (or “image warps”) to diffusion tensor magnetic resonance images. The orientational information that these images contain must be handled appropriately when they are transformed ...

Anchorage‐independent and faster growth in clonal population from UV‐irradiated NER‐deficient cells
UV‐irradiated cells expressing a DDB2 mutant protein unable to interact with PCNA (DDB2PCNA‐) form clones able to grow without anchorage. Different experimental approaches reveal heterogeneity in cell cycle regulation and drug response within these clones, emphasizing the crucial role of the DDB2‐PCNA interaction in preventing cellular transformation ...
