Research of transient process on three-phase four-leg inverter with unbalanced load

2017 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific (ITEC Asia-Pacific), 2017
For three-phase four-leg inverter, symmetrical component method and double closed-loop control is a traditional method to sustain the symmetry of three-phase output voltage in steady-state under unbalanced load, but asymmetrical output voltage is still generated in transient process.

Output voltage control of a four-leg inverter based three-phase UPS

2007 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2007
An all scalar PWM and control approach for the four-leg inverter based three phase transformerless UPS is proposed. The output voltage of each phase is controlled independently and its controller is formed by a stationary frame resonant filter bank accompanied with proportional control and output capacitor current based active damping loops.

Analysis and Simplification of Three-Dimensional Space Vector PWM for Three-Phase Four-Leg Inverters

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2011
The main objective of this paper is to simplify the implementation of continuous and discontinuous 3-D space vector pulsewidth modulations (SVPWMs). This paper analyzes the relationships, whether in or coordinates, between three-phase voltages and the following elements: the tetrahedron in which the reference vector resides, three adjacent active ...

Comparison of modulation techniques for active split DC-bus three-phase four-leg inverters

2014 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2014
Three-phase four-leg inverters are commonly employed to supply unbalanced loads avoiding the use of a transformer. A suitable output filter is necessary to improve the harmonic content of the output voltage and current waveforms. To this aim, different kind of filters, presenting both symmetrical or asymmetrical phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral ...

Design and control of a three-phase four-leg inverter for solid-state transformer applications

2013 15th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE), 2013
This paper proposes the use of a three-phase four-leg (3P4L) converter in combination with an LCL filter for the inverter stage of a solid state transformer (SST). This configuration gives full control over the line-to-line, as well as the line-to-neutral voltage and currents, while providing exceptional harmonics mitigation.

Research on Modify Proportion-Integration Control Strategy of Three-Phase Four-Leg Inverter

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
A general PI control algorithm is not a perfect solution to control ac signal. Because it is not able to eliminated steady-state error. The radical reason of the problem is investigated in few literatures. So the reason is explored, and an important conclusion is reached.

Digital control of a three-phase four-leg inverter under unbalanced voltage conditions

2007 European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications, 2007
In this paper, the implementation of an innovative inverter control strategy based on the symmetrical components is presented. Symmetrical components of the inverter output voltage and current are decomposed into dq DC quantities to control a three-phase four-leg inverter.

Model predictive control of three-phase four-leg neutral-point-clamped inverters

The 2010 International Power Electronics Conference - ECCE ASIA -, 2010
This paper presents a finite control set model predictive control strategy with a prediction horizon of one sample time to control the three-phase four-leg neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverter with an output LC filter. The four-leg NPC converter is developed to deliver power to the unbalanced/nonlinear three-phase loads and it can produce three output ...

Optimal selection of controllers for three-phase four-leg inverter-based distributed generation units

IECON 2016 - 42nd Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2016
This paper presents an optimal selection of linear controllers for the three-phase four-leg inverter operating in island-mode. The inverter uses dual-loop linear control strategy to control the output AC voltage. For each loop following linear controller combinations are tested: proportional (P), proportional-integral (PI), proportional-resonant (PR ...
