Generalized shipboard microgrid power flow incorporating hierarchical control

open access: yesiEnergy
Modern shipboard microgrids (SMGs) incorporating distributed energy resources (DERs) enhance energy resilience and reduce carbon emissions. However, the hierarchical control schemes of DERs bring challenges to the traditional power flow methods.

Quasi-Static Time-Series Power Flow Solution for Islanded and Unbalanced Three-Phase Microgrids

open access: yesIEEE Open Access Journal of Power and Energy, 2021
Recent advances in inverter-based distributed energy resources (DERs) allow microgrids to operate in grid-connected and islanded modes with ease. However, determining a steady-state load flow solution of a real-world unbalanced and islanded three-phase ...

Preferences of Pediatric Patients and Their Caregivers for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Control Endpoints: A Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Although not always achieved, complete chemotherapy‐induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) control is the conventional goal of CINV prophylaxis. In this two‐center, mixed‐methods study, we sought to understand the preferences of adolescent patients and family caregivers for CINV control endpoints.

Feasibility and Preliminary Efficacy of Integrative Neuromuscular Training for Childhood Cancer Survivors: A Pilot Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often exhibit early deficits in muscle and movement competence, which can compromise long‐term health. Integrative neuromuscular training (INT), a multifaceted approach combining fundamental movement activities with strength exercises, may help address these deficits during ...

Voltage control method based on three‐phase four‐wire sensitivity for hybrid AC/DC low‐voltage distribution networks with high‐penetration PVs

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, 2022
The increasing integration of distributed photovoltaics may further aggravate the over‐voltage and three‐phase unbalance issues of low‐voltage distribution networks with three‐phase four‐wire structures.

Electric Power Flow Control in Double Three-Phase Machines without Shift between Magnetic Axes

open access: yesMachines, 2023
This paper examines the control strategy adopted for six-phase machines that have been designed as double three-phase machines without a displacement between the magnetic axes of the two sets of three-phase windings (6PH-ZS).

Therapeutic Apheresis for Intravenous Methylprednisolone‐Refractory Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder: Clinical and Radiological Outcomes in a Single‐Center Case Series

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is a relapsing autoimmune disease of the central nervous system. High‐dose intravenous methylprednisolone (IVMP) is the standard first‐line therapy for acute attacks, although some patients remain refractory.

An extension of Newton–Raphson power flow problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This paper explores an idea to extend Newton–Raphson power flow problem to handle power system transmission line flow limits, by means of generation redispatch and phase shifters.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A COMPUTER CALCULATION FOR TENTATIVE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT BY REACTIVE POWER COMPENSATION CONSIDERING SYSTEM UNBALANCED [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An improvement of unbalanced distribution system operation is carried out by reactive power compensation. The lagging reactive power demand is compensated by allocating a number of three-phase shunt capacitors.
