Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Coupled-Inductor Magnetics in Power Electronics [PDF]
Leakages are inseparably associated with magnetic circuits and are always thought of in three different negative ways: either you have them and you don't want them (transformers), or you don't have them but want them (to limit transformer short circuit ...

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Nondestructive Testing of Welded Composite Metal Foams
X‐ray computed tomography (CT) is used to evaluate welded steel–steel composite metal foam (CMF) joints of two density classes. It reports variation in postweld spatial void distribution and correlates it to weld‐induced changes, mechanical performance, and failure within welded CMF panels.

Analysis and Modeling of Parallel Three-Phase Boost Converters Using Three-Phase Coupled Inductor
he main issue of parallel three-phase boost converters is reduction of the low- and high frequency circulating currents. Most present technologies concentrate on low frequency circulating current because the circulating current controller cannot mitigate

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

Investigation of Multiphase Coupled-Inductor Buck Converters in Point-of-Load Applications
Multiphase interleaving buck converters are widely used in today's industrial point-of-load (POL) converters, especially the microprocessor voltage regulators (VRs). The issue of today's multiphase interleaving buck converters is the conflict between the
