Micropillar‐Engineered Hybrid Adhesive Patch for Surface‐Conformable and Directional Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents a surface‐conformable hybrid adhesive integrating height‐optimized hexagonal micropillars with open‐rectangular cuts. The micropillars enhance rough‐surface contact and microscale crack arrest, while the cuts guide and reverse interfacial cracks for strong and directional adhesion. The multiscale architecture achieves robust pull‐off

Flexible 3D Multi‐Material Printing beyond Layer‐by‐Layer Constraints via Sequential Multi‐Printer Fabrication

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We developed a flexible multi‐material printing strategy that employs sequential printing with different printers. This combined use of printers expands the accessible material scope. Moreover, incorporating Xolography as a sequential step enables support‐free, contactless printing, thereby enhancing structural design flexibility beyond conventional ...

The effect of voids on the flexural fatigue properties of carbon/epoxy composites

open access: yes, 2010
The role of voids in composite failures has not been well understood or been characterized. This study presents the result of an investigation aimed at examining the mechanical behaviour of unidirectional carbon fibre-reinforced polymer matrix materials ...

Experimental and simulation studies on flexural strength of laminated glass using ring-on-ring and three-point bending test

open access: yes, 2017
Flexural strength of laminated glass is noteworthy in architectural, glazing, automotive safety, photo-voltaic, and decorative applications. The flexural strength of laminated glass samples having polyvinyl butyral/ethyl vinyl acetate interlayer of ...

Shaping Carbon Nitrides for Advanced Macrostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review examines how carbon nitride can be shaped through a range of printing and interfacial assembly methods. By bringing together additive manufacturing and liquid–liquid structuring concepts, carbon nitride is moving beyond its traditional powder‐based photocatalyst form toward digitally designed robust macroscale architectures with high design

Fully 3D‐Printed Wave‐Wound Electromagnetic Motors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This work presents the first fully 3D‐printed wave‐wound electromagnetic motors, which are created using conductive nanoparticle inks, carbon‐filled nylon polymers, and surface mount components. These motors can achieve a stall torque of 7.62N·mmA−1$7.62 \nobreakspace N{\cdot }mm A^{-1}$ and efficiency of 28.2 %, which approaches the performance of ...

Comparison between three-point and four-point flexural tests to determine wood strength of eucalyptus specimens

open access: yesMaderas: Ciencia y Tecnología, 2018
Comparison between flexural wood strength values obtained from three-point and four-point bending tests in wood were only reported in few previous works, but remains unclear.
