Summary: We consider a model in which there is discontinuous adjustment to a long-run equilibrium. Here, the equilibrium error follows a threshold autoregression that is mean-reverting outside a given range and has a unit root inside the range. We suggest a two-step approach for examining threshold cointegration.

Quantum error correction below the surface code threshold
NatureQuantum error correction1, 2, 3–4 provides a path to reach practical quantum computing by combining multiple physical qubits into a logical qubit, in which the logical error rate is suppressed exponentially as more qubits are added.

Thresholds have traditionally been represented by a single number; the optimal management of the patient depends on whether his probability of disease is above or below this number. The concept of a threshold as a single number, however, inadequately represents the treat ment approach of a group of physicians who do not all have the same threshold or ...

Variable-Threshold Threshold Elements
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1968Abstract—Variable-threshold threshold elements (V-T threshold elements) are threshold elements in which the weights are fixed while the threshold may be varied. When the threshold is varied, a set of functions is generated.

The general interest in the application of exercise testing to evaluate the work capacity or change in the functional ability of individuals has resulted in the development of a variety of non-invasive tests and test parameters such as the anaerobic threshold.

Predicting Lactate Threshold Using Ventilatory Threshold
International Journal of Sports Medicine, 2008Lactate threshold is an important reference point when setting training intensities for endurance athletes. Ventilatory threshold has been used as a noninvasive estimate of lactate threshold, but appears to underestimate training intensity for many athletes. This study evaluated whether data obtained during a noninvasive, maximal exercise test could be

AbstractIn the traditional scenario in cryptography there is one sender, one receiver and an active or passive eavesdropper who is an opponent. Large bank transactions require two people to sign, implying two senders. So the power to generate a valid transaction is shared.
