Multi-threshold threshold elements

IEEE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1966
A multi-threshold element is one in which several thresholds are used to separate the true inputs from the false inputs. Many circuit elements and configurations can be described by this model. An approach, based on conventional single-threshold threshold elements, is developed for the analysis and synthesis of multithreshold threshold elements.

Threshold Cryptography

European Transactions on Telecommunications, 1994
AbstractIn the traditional scenario in cryptography there is one sender, one receiver and an active or passive eavesdropper who is an opponent. Large bank transactions require two people to sign, implying two senders. So the power to generate a valid transaction is shared.

Nets of Variable-Threshold Threshold Elements

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1968
Abstract—A variable-threshold net is a network of variable-threshold threshold elements in which the threshold of all elements is a common variable parameter. Synthesis of such nets to realize a given set of functions not realizable by a single element is discussed. An application to realizing sequential machines is described. The problem of prevention

Artistic thresholding

Proceedings of the 6th international symposium on Non-photorealistic animation and rendering, 2008
We consider the problem of depicting continuous-tone images using only black and white. Traditional solutions to this problem include halftoning, which approximates tones, and line drawing, which approximates edges. We introduce "artistic thresholding" as a technique that attempts to depict forms in an image. We apply segmentation to a source image and

THE FRUSTRATION THRESHOLD

American Journal of Psychiatry, 1947
The experiment to determine the threshold of frustration was conducted with normal, neurotic and psychotic subjects. It was difficult to present a problem which was equally motivating, and which would always result in frustration at the point of failure.
