Average Performance Analysis for Thresholding [PDF]
In this letter, we show that with high probability, the thresholding algorithm can recover signals that are sparse in a redundant dictionary as long as the 2-Babel function is growing slowly. This implies that it can succeed for sparsity levels up to the order of the ambient dimension.

Dimensional analysis of a landscape evolution model with incision threshold [PDF]
The ability of erosional processes to incise into a topographic surface can be limited by a threshold. Incision thresholds affect the topography of landscapes and their scaling properties and can introduce nonlinear relations between climate and erosion ...

Low-threshold analysis of CDMS shallow-site data [PDF]
Data taken during the final shallow-site run of the first tower of the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS II) detectors have been reanalyzed with improved sensitivity to small energy depositions.

Effects of threshold resummation
We investigate effects of threshold resummation of logarithmic corrections $\ln N$ in Mellin space quantitatively. Threshold resummation leads to enhancement of next-to-leading-order QCD predictions for jet production at large jet transverse energy ...

Analysis of Age of Information Threshold Violations [PDF]
We study a scenario where a monitor is interested in the freshest possible update from a remote sensor. The monitor also seeks to minimize the number of updates that exceed a certain freshness threshold, beyond which, the information is deemed to be too old. Previous work has presented results for First Come First Served (FCFS) systems. However, it has

Real-time threshold determination of auditory brainstem responses by cross-correlation analysis
Summary: Auditory brainstem response (ABR) serves as an objective indication of auditory perception at a given sound level and is nowadays widely used in hearing function assessment.

A Comparison of Nature Inspired Algorithms for Multi-threshold Image Segmentation
In the field of image analysis, segmentation is one of the most important preprocessing steps. One way to achieve segmentation is by mean of threshold selection, where each pixel that belongs to a determined class islabeled according to the selected ...
