Limit spectral distribution for non-degenerate hypersurface singularities

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mathématique, 2022
We establish Kyoji Saito’s continuous limit distribution for the spectrum of Newton non-degenerate hypersurface singularities. Investigating Saito’s notion of dominant value in the case of irreducible plane curve singularities, we find that the log ...

Work-related neck and upper limb disorders – quantitative exposure–response relationships adjusted for personal characteristics and psychosocial conditions

open access: yesBMC Musculoskeletal Disorders, 2019
Background We have previously reported quantitative exposure-response relationships between physical exposures recorded by technical methods, and complaints and diagnoses in the neck/shoulders, and the elbows/hands, based on group data.

Some Experiments in Extreme‐Value Statistical Modeling of Magnetic Superstorm Intensities

open access: yesSpace Weather, 2020
In support of projects for forecasting and mitigating the deleterious effects of extreme space weather storms, an examination is made of the intensities of magnetic superstorms recorded in the Dst index time series (1957–2016).

Near-threshold charged kaon pair production in two protons collisions

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
The pp → ppK+K− reaction was measured near threshold at excess energy Q = 4.5 MeV using the COSY-11 detection system installed at the COSY-Juelich accelerator. Preliminary value of upper limit of the total cross section was determined.

O enfoque da metrologia química em análises toxicológicas na atividade turfística: validação de método analítico para determinação de cafeína em matrizes biológicas The chemical metrology approach for toxicological analysis in horseracing: validation of an analytical method for the determination of caffeine in biological matrices

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2007
This paper proposes an alternate method to detect forbidden doping substances present in biological matrices of horseracing. The method was fully validated for caffeine, identified as the most frequent forbidden substance in the analysis conducted by the

Low-flow estimates in regions of extrapolation of the regionalization equations: a new concept [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola, 2015
Knowledge of natural water availability, which is characterized by low flows, is essential for planning and management of water resources. One of the most widely used hydrological techniques to determine streamflow is regionalization, but the ...

Comparison of Critical and Threshold Fluxes on Ultrafiltration and Nanofiltration by Treating 2-Phase or 3-Phase Olive Mill Wastewater

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2013
In this work, batch membrane processes in series composed by ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF) and reverse osmosis (RO) are used to purify the effluents exiting both the two-phase and tree-phase extraction processes.

Lifestyle Behaviors and Cardiotoxic Treatment Risks in Adult Childhood Cancer Survivors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Higher doses of anthracyclines and heart‐relevant radiotherapy increase cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. This study assessed CVD and CVD risk factors among adult childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) across cardiotoxic treatment risk groups and examined associations between lifestyle behaviors and treatment risks.
