Cythochrome P450-mediated dinotefuran resistance in onion thrips, Thrips tabaci
Pesticide Biochemistry and PhysiologyOnion thrips, Thrips tabaci, have developed resistance to many insecticides, and over the last decade, resistant populations have spread widely across Japan. The cytochrome P450 (CYP) family, a widely conserved detoxification enzyme that metabolizes xenobiotics such as insecticides and phytochemicals, is believed to play important roles in the ...

The susceptibility of onion thrips, Thrips tabaci to Heterorhabditis indicus.
Communications in agricultural and applied biological sciences, 2007The potential of the entomopathogenic nematode, Heterorhabditis indicus against Thrips tabaci was tested on foliage and in soil at three concentrations. Soil treatment was more effective than the foliar treatment. At 1.5 million nematodes/m2, nearly 70% mortality was achieved with soil application whereas a similar dose applied to the foliage gave only

Population Dynamics of Thrips tabaci in Onion
Indian Journal of EntomologyThrips tabaci Lindeman (onion thrips) have become a serious pest threatening onion cultivation. The present study investigated the impact of three planting dates on T. tabaci incidence on onion (Giza 20 variety) for two years (2021-22 and 2022-23). The findings revealed that the T.

EFFECT OF CROP MIXTURES ON THE INCIDENCE OF THRIPS Thrips tabaci LINDEMAN IN ONION
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1998Thrips infestation was significantly less on onion plants in crop mixtures than on pure crop. Tomato, mint and coriander were significant in lowering thrips population densities on onion in crop mixtures. Tomato had greater influence than coriander and mint.

Sequential Sampling for Thrips tabaci on Onions
1995A binomial sequential sampling procedure based on the presence of five or more Thrips tabaci per onion was as precise as Iwao’s sequential sampling method that requires counting all thrips present. Acceptance boundaries were calculated for economic thresholds of 0.9 and 2.2 thrips per leaf and the plans were validated in fields containing 0.01 to 32.33

Plant odours with potential for a push–pull strategy to control the onion thrips, Thrips tabaci
Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, 2006AbstractWe compared the efficacy of four plant essential oils to repel onion thrips, Thrips tabaci (Lindeman) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae), in the presence of an attractive odour, ethyl iso‐nicotinate in a pasture field. Four horizontal white sticky plates were placed adjacent to (directions: N, S, E, W) a central horizontal white plate (C).

Studies on Thrips tabaci Lindman
Zeitschrift für Angewandte Entomologie, 1972AbstractNineteen varieties of cotton (seven American, two Russian and ten Egyptian) were tested for thrips and aphids resistance. The following varieties Pima S‐1, 126–1, Giza 31, Giza 45 and Alexandria 3 showed a considerable resistance to both thrips and aphids.

Genetic variation in chrysanthemum for resistance to Western Flower Thrips and Thrips tabaci
1995In a choice experiment, resistance of 43 chrysanthemum cultivars to western flower thrips (WFT) damage was measured. Two distinct types of damage were observed, both were log-normally distributed and only a few cultivars were highly susceptible. Significant differences were found among cultivars in the amount of both types of damage.
