The mandatory role of complement in the endotoxin-induced synthesis of tissue thromboplastin in blood monocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1982
Fres isolated blood cells recombined with normal heparinized plasma and then incubated with endotoxin, induced a 100-fold increase in monocyte tissue thromboplastin synthesis.

THE GENERATION OF THROMBOPLASTIN AND LEVELS OF PLASMA THROMBOPLASTIN COMPONENT IN THE BLOOD OF INFANTS

Pediatrics, 1956
Infants less than 6 months of age have decreased thromboplastin generation, resulting in part from a deficiency of plasma thromboplastin component. Some factor or factors other than a low level of plasma thromboplastin component may contribute to this deficiency.

Calibration of thromboplastins

Proceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series B: Biological Sciences, 1995
Anticoagulant therapy with coumarin drugs requires tests on the patient's blood to determine the dose rate for the drug. The tests involve measuring the effect of a preparation of a certain reagent, thromboplastin, in accelerating the clotting of the patient's blood.

Thromboplastin generation by saliva

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1962
Abstract In order to determine directly whether saliva has any specific thromboplastic activity or whether its effect in accelerating blood coagulation is nonspecific, we compared saliva with commercial tissue thromboplastins in the following modified hematologic tests: 1. 1.
