Throttle Valve Position Control System

IEEE Transactions on Industry and General Applications, 1965
A high-accuracy steam valve controller which uses a dc motor and gear train to position a steam valve shaft is described. The system responds to an error signal derived from the difference between an input reference and an output feedback signal. The error signal is amplified to control two firing pulse generators.

Design and control of an intelligent electronic throttle control system

2015 International Conference on Energy Economics and Environment (ICEEE), 2015
The objective of this paper is to design of an intelligent electronic throttle control system (ETCS). A high performance DC servo motor, and conventional proportional-integral-derivative (PID), sliding mode control (SMC) with PD and PID type sliding surface (SS), and fuzzy logic control techniques are used for the design of ETCS.

Autonomic workload execution control using throttling [PDF]

open access: possible2010 IEEE 26th International Conference on Data Engineering Workshops (ICDEW 2010), 2010
Database Management Systems (DBMSs) are often required to simultaneously process multiple diverse workloads while enforcing business policies that govern workload performance. Workload control mechanisms such as admission control, query scheduling, and workload execution control serve to ensure that such policies are enforced and that individual ...

Electronic Throttle Control Strategy Develop

2009
This paper researches on how to improve the ETB (Electronic Throttle Body) performance, as the emission requirement becomes more and more strict this core function’s performance becomes more and more important. We can get the command throttle position easy but there are many factors can affect the ETB intake air mass model in the real work environment,

Throttle actuator control system for vehicle traction control

Mechatronics, 1999
Accurate and quick positioning of the throttle valve in a gasoline engine is required to implement various systems such as traction control systems (TCS), cruise control systems and drive-by-wire systems. In this research, the throttle actuator system for TCS application was developed.

Vehicle longitudinal control using throttles and brakes

Robotics and Autonomous Systems, 1999
One of the main challenges of automotive vehicle longitudinal control is integrating throttle and brake control. The difficulties are mainly due to the necessity of switching throttles and brakes, and the non-symmetry of time delays - large delay for brakes, and small delay for throttles.

Electronic throttle control for ride-by-wire in sport motorcycles

2008 IEEE International Conference on Control Applications, 2008
This paper presents the analysis and the design of the servo-controller for an electronic throttle body (ETB) designed for ride-by-wire applications in racing motorcycles. Specifically, the open-loop dynamics of the system is studied in detail discussing the effects of friction.

Diagnosis of automotive electronic throttle control systems

Control Engineering Practice, 2004
During the past two decades, the automotive industry has been required to develop on-board health monitoring capabilities to meet legislated diagnostic requirements for engine management systems. In this paper, real-time diagnostics are presented which monitor the performance of an electronic throttle control system to detect and identify a suite of ...

An Electronic Control Throttle for Torque and Stability Optimization

Volume 2: Fora, 2005
The design and performance of an inlet throttle mechanism composed of a spool and a direct acting solenoid is demonstrated to yield similar fuel injection characteristics, described by injection traces, as a pressure regulator placed in the output of a HEUI (hydraulic electronic fuel injector) pump with the added advantage of yielding torque savings of
