Thrust force analysis of spindle motor for HDDs
International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion, 2006. SPEEDAM 2006., 2006This paper presents spindle motor with fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) for hard disk drives. Thrust bearing of FDB requires appropriate pressure to operate in smooth rotations. In this study, the thrust force between rotor and thrust yoke is analyzed using 3D finite element method and experimental results are compared with the simulated ...

Handheld surgical drill with integrated thrust force recognition
2013 E-Health and Bioengineering Conference (EHB), 2013Spine surgeries are particularly high-risk procedures with the imminent danger of spinal cord and blood vessel injuries. High accuracy and safety are important aspects in the use of medical devices during invasive interventions. For exact positioning of the drill hole, drill tip pose recognition and bone layer breakthrough detection is required.

Internal Thrust Force Analysis of CVT Push Belt
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2016<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">A CVT belt is composed of multiple elements and layered rings. Each of these component parts generates loss, including relative slippage caused by the geometrical relationship between the elements and innermost ring layer.

Prediction of thrust forces in tubular induction machines
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1992Standstill forces on tubular induction machines are calculated by two methods: a simple one-dimensional technique and a two-dimensional axisymmetric finite element analysis. The end effect force produced by the finite length of the machine is calculated. The work is confirmed by tests taken on a practical machine. >

Balanced-force-control of underactuated thrust-propelled vehicles
2007 46th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2007The paper sets the basics of a control framework for underactuated thrust-propelled vehicles immersed in a fluid, with the objective of stabilizing reference trajectories either in velocity or in position.

Propeller thrust force contribution to airplane longitudinal stability
Aircraft Engineering and Aerospace Technology, 2018Purpose This paper aims to present the new information about propeller thrust force contribution to airplane longitudinal stability analysis. Design/methodology/approach The method presented in this paper is empirical, shows how propeller thrust force derivative can be obtained and gives some additional information about misinterpretation of the ...

Cranial tibial thrust: A primary force in the Canine stifle
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1983SUMMARY A cranially directed force identified within the canine stifle joint was termed cranial tibial thrust. It was generated during weight bearing by tibial compression, of which the tarsal tendon of the biceps femoris is a major contributor, and by the slope of the tibial plateau, found to have a mean cranially directed inclination of 22.6 degrees.

The Propeller Thrust Force Analysis
2002The paper analyzes the propeller thrust force production as a function to the radius of the propeller blade. The thrust force generated on the particular radius of the propeller blade contributes to the total thrust force as well as to the total resistance of the propeller.
