Speed Control of Linear Induction Motor with Thrust and Stator Flux Ripple Reduction
2018 21st International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2018This paper introduces a speed control of linear induction motor (LIM) by using three different strategies of control. A proportional Integral (PI) controller is used to control the speed of LIM. The output of the PI controller is regarded as the reference thrust for all three different schemes.

Thrust Ripple Reduction in Ultrahigh-Acceleration Moving-Permanent-Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2012This paper describes thrust ripple reduction in an ultrahigh-acceleration moving-permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor (MPM LSM). The pole pitch of the permanent magnet (PM) is adjusted to reduce thrust ripple because this technique is effective and is easily applicable for many design procedures of PM LSMs.

Thrust ripple analysis and suppression of a dual-PM transverse flux linear machine
International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and MechanicsLinear machines with high thrust force and low thrust ripple are essential for linear direct-drive applications. The transverse flux machines gain the advantage of high force density by decoupling of electric and magnetic loadings. However, there exists high thrust ripple defecting its performance.
