DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF AUTO DEPTH CONTROL OF REMOTELY OPERATED VEHICLE USING THRUSTER SYSTEM [PDF]
Remotely Operated Vehicles are underwater robots designed specifically for surveillance, monitoring and collecting data for underwater activities. In the underwater vehicle industries, the thruster is an important part in controlling the direction, depth

Emission Modes in Electrospray Thrusters Operating with High Conductivity Ionic Liquids
Electrospray thruster life and mission performance are strongly influenced by grid impingement, the extent of which can be correlated with emission modes that occur at steady-state extraction voltages, and thruster command transients.

A Parallelized Genetic Algorithm to Evaluate Asteroid Impact Missions Using Electric Propulsion
A streamlined genetic algorithm was developed and implemented on a GPU to evaluate low-thrust trajectories of spacecraft propelled by an ion thruster. It was then applied to examine the utility of a specific thruster for an asteroid impact mission.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Development of a Laser Micro-Thruster and On-Orbit Testing
Laser micro-thrust technology is a type of propulsion that uses a laser beam to ablate a propellant such as a metal or plastic. The ablated material is expelled out the back of the spacecraft, generating thrust.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Simulating a Cyber-Attack on the Mass Thruster Controllers at Low-Speed Motion
The aim of this paper is to highlight the vulnerability of Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS) to cyber-attack and to illustrate, through a simulation experiment on a testbed, how to mitigate a cyber-attack on the MASS thruster controllers during ...

Research on the life-limiting sputtering mechanism of 30 cm ion thruster
“Pits-and-grooves” patterns on the downstream accelerator grid surface had a severe effect on the thruster life; however, the sputtering patterns on the decelerator grid upstream surface were also observed after the thruster worked for over 3000 h ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
