The slope efficiency of 2μm thulium doped fiber laser

Linearly polarized thulium doped all-fiber laser
2015 11th Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim (CLEO-PR), 2015We report an all-fiber, linearly polarized Thulium doped fiber laser operating at 1950 nm. In the experiment, as high as 14.2 Watts power is generated from the laser with slope efficiency of 48.4%.

Workshop on Recent Advances in Photonics (WRAP), 2013A continuous-wave thulium-doped fiber laser at around 1.9 μm has been demonstrated in all-fiber ring configuration. Ultrafast thulium-doped fiber laser mode locked with black phosphorus
Optics Letters, 2015We report, for the first time to our knowledge, the usage of black phosphorus (BP) as a saturable absorber for the mode locking of a thulium-doped fiber laser. We have experimentally shown that BP exhibits saturable absorption in the 2 μm wavelength range and supports ultrashort pulse generation.

SPIE Proceedings, 2016We demonstrate a thulium-doped all fiber actively mode-locked laser by synchronously pumping without electronic modulator. A mode-locked fiber laser operating at 1550 nm based on nonlinear polarization rotation (NPR) is innovatively utilized as the pulsed pump.
