Thymol derivatives fromCarpesium divaricatum

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 1998
Four thymol derivatives, 2,5-dimethoxythymol (1), 2-methoxythymol isobutyrate (2), 10-isobutyloxy-8,9-epoxythymolisobutyrate (3) and 10-(2-methylbutyloxy)-8,9-epoxythymolisobutyrate (4) were isolated from the aerial parts of Carpesium divaricatum. The structures were elucidated by high field 1D and 2D NMR techniques.

Abandon the Thymol Turbidity Test

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1974
It is often more difficult to abandon an accepted laboratory test than to introduce a new one. In an attempt to convince our clinical staff that the thymol turbidity test had outlived its usefulness, we reviewed 2,557 “liver series” which included the TT. In 2,137 instances the TT agreed with the other tests and provided no different information.
