Malectin Alleviates Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus via Glycoprotein Quality Control Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

Functional Mapping of Neurodevelopmental Disease Pathways to Key Neurodevelopmental Processes Represented in the Developmental Neurotoxicity In Vitro Testing Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human‐relevant methods are essential for modern chemical safety assessment. This study helps define the capabilities and boundaries of an in vitro testing battery for developmental neurotoxicity by exploring its biological applicability domain. By linking neurodevelopmental disease‐related pathways to key neurodevelopmental processes, the work enhances

USP25 attenuates the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment via the deubiquitination of TAB2 in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma

open access: yesCell Death Discovery
The role of deubiquitinating enzymes in the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) remains understudied. Here, we sought to identify the mechanisms of USP25 modulation in the TIME of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC).

Liquid Metal Nanotransformers for Drug‐Resistant Pan‐Cancer Therapy in Patient‐Derived Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pan‐cancer therapies are severely limited in drug‐resistance patients due to genetic mutations and other factors, resulting in poor therapeutic outcomes and constrained clinical benefit. Liquid metal nanotransformers, a new class of shape‐transformable nanomaterials capable of dramatic morphological changes, offer a promising physical strategy to ...

DNA topoisomerases participate in fragility of the oncogene RET [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Fragile site breakage was previously shown to result in rearrangement of the RET oncogene, resembling the rearrangements found in thyroid cancer. Common fragile sites are specific regions of the genome with a high susceptibility to DNA breakage under ...

Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Promote Tumor Immunosuppression in Hepatocellular Carcinoma via the NNMT‐ANGPTL4 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims: Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) drive immunosuppression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, their metabolic regulation remains poorly defined. We investigated the role of nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase (NNMT) in CAFs. Approach & Results: High NNMT expression in CAF tissues was confirmed by western blotting and

Optimizing surgical outcomes in papillary thyroid carcinoma with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis: a retrospective comparative study of unilateral and total thyroidectomy

open access: yesScientific Reports
The management of papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) concurrent with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (HT) lacks standardized guidelines, especially concerning surgical strategies. This study aimed to compare unilateral thyroidectomy (UT) with total thyroidectomy (
