Diagnostic Dilemma In Discordant Thyroid Function Tests Due To Thyroid Hormone Autoantibodies

open access: yesAACE Clinical Case Reports, 2017
: Objective: Assay interference could be the cause of abnormal thyroid function tests. Early recognition prevents inappropriate patient management. The objective of this report is to present a case with discordant thyroid function tests in different ...

The role of primary cilia in thyroid diseases

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
Primary cilia (PC) are non-motile and microtube-based organelles protruding from the surface of almost all thyroid follicle cells. They maintain homeostasis in thyrocytes and loss of PC can result in diverse thyroid diseases. The dysfunction of structure

S-nitrosylation of NF-kB p65 inhibits TSH-induced Na+/I- symporter expression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Nitric oxide (NO) is a ubiquitous signaling molecule involved in a wide variety of cellular physiological processes. In thyroid cells, NO-synthase III-endogenously produced NO reduces thyrotropin (TSH)-stimulated thyroid specific gene expression ...

LincNEAT1 Encoded‐NEAT1‐31 Promotes Phagocytosis by Directly Activating the Aurora‐A–PI3K–AKT Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LincNEAT1 Encoded‐NEAT1‐31 micropeptide directly binds with Aurora‐A and enhanced AKT pathways to pormotes phagocytosis against multi cancer cells. Abstract Macrophages play vital roles in innate and adaptive immunity, and their essential functions are mediated by phagocytosis and antigen presentation.

PROS1‐MERTK Axis Drives Tumor Microenvironment Crosstalk and Progression in Papillary Thyroid Microcarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Identifying biomarkers associated with PTC, particularly those related to PTMC progression, is crucial for precise risk stratification and treatment planning. This study utilized single‐cell RNA sequencing on 19 surgical tissue specimens, confirmed PROS1/MERTK axis as a critical component of the cellular microenvironment and a key regulatory mechanism ...

Gait patterns associated with thyroid function: The Rotterdam Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Gait is an important health indicator and poor gait is strongly associated with disability and risk of falls. Thyroid dysfunction is suggested as a potential determinant of gait deterioration, but this has not been explored in a population-based study ...

The Non‐Canonical ChREBPα Activity Suppresses the Activation of Hepatic Stellate Cells and Liver Fibrosis by Antagonizing TGF‐β‐E2F1 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Intrahepatic microenvironment greatly impacts duration and degree of HSCs activation and development of liver fibrosis. By inhibiting TGFβ‐E2F1‐driven production of profibrogenic factors (CTGF and THBS1), hepatocyte ChREBPα monitors hepatic microenvironment and suppresses the overactivation of HSCs.
