Decoding Human Placental Cellular and Molecular Responses to Obesity and Fetal Growth
Women with obesity often deliver large‐for‐gestational‐age (LGA) infants. Single‐nucleus RNA sequencing of term placenta reveals that hypoxia and TNF‐α signaling in syncytiotrophoblasts are featured in maternal obesity, but inflammatory signatures in Hofbauer cells and response to lipid or carbohydrate metabolism in fibroblasts are specific to LGA.

Effect of hyperthyroidism on circulating prolactin and hypothalamic expression of tyrosine hydroxylase, prolactin signaling cascade members and estrogen and progesterone receptors during late pregnancy and lactation in the rat [PDF]
Hyperthyroidism (HyperT) compromises pregnancy and lactation, hindering suckling-induced PRL release. We studied the effect of HyperT on hypothalamic mRNA (RT-qPCR) and protein (Western blot) expression of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH), PRL receptor (PRLR ...

Connexin 26 Functions as a Direct Transcriptional Regulator During the Cochlea Development
Connexin26 can not only form intercellular channels that mediate rapid communication on the cell membrane, but also enter the nucleus as a transcription factor to directly regulate the transcription of nuclear genes. In the developing cochlea, Cx26 can control the maturation of the molecular scissor ADAM10 by regulating the transcription of TspanC8 ...

Evolution of the Antisense Overlap between Genes for Thyroid Hormone Receptor and Rev-erbα and Characterization of an Exonic G-Rich Element That Regulates Splicing of TRα2 mRNA. [PDF]
The α-thyroid hormone receptor gene (TRα) codes for two functionally distinct proteins: TRα1, the α-thyroid hormone receptor; and TRα2, a non-hormone-binding variant. The final exon of TRα2 mRNA overlaps the 3' end of Rev-erbα mRNA, which encodes another

NFE2-Related transcription factor 2 coordinates antioxidant defense with thyroglobulin production and iodination in the thyroid gland [PDF]
Background: The thyroid gland has a special relationship with oxidative stress. While generation of oxidative substances is part of normal iodide metabolism during thyroid hormone synthesis, the gland must also defend itself against excessive oxidation ...

MC‐LR stabilizes DNMT1/3a by blocking their ubiquitin‐mediated degradation, leading to Gpx4 promoter hypermethylation and E2F4/NCoR‐associated transcriptional repression, which drives renal tubular ferroptosis in mice. Pharmacological inhibition of DNA methylation (SGI‐1027) or ferroptosis (Fer‐1) disrupts this DNMT‐GPX4 axis, thereby alleviating MC‐LR‐

An Exonic Splicing Enhancer within a Bidirectional Coding Sequence Regulates Alternative Splicing of an Antisense mRNA [PDF]
The discovery of increasing numbers of genes with overlapping sequences highlights the problem of expression in the context of constraining regulatory elements from more than one gene.

Sterol regulatory element-binding proteins are regulators of the rat thyroid peroxidase gene in thyroid cells [PDF]
Sterol regulatory element-binding proteins (SREBPs)-1c and -2, which were initially discovered as master transcriptional regulators of lipid biosynthesis and uptake, were recently identified as novel transcriptional regulators of the sodium-iodide ...

Concentration of Serum Thyroid Hormone Binding Proteins after 131I Treatment of Hyperthyroidism [PDF]
Serum concentrations of the thyroid hormone binding proteins, thyroxine binding globulin, prealbumin, and albumin were determined in 30 thyrotoxic patients before and after 131I treatment. Each patient was placed into one of three groups according to response to treatment. The serum concentration of all three proteins rose significantly in 10 patients
