This Mendelian randomization study reveals that genetically predicted higher fresh fruit intake significantly reduces MG risk (OR = 0.023, p = 0.029), while elevated BMI, waist circumference, and thyroid dysfunction (hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism) increase MG risk.

Hypocalcemia After Thyroidectomy in Patients Taking Proton Pump Inhibitors

Patients taking proton pump inhibitors may be more likely to experience of short‐term and permanent hypocalcemia after thyroid surgery. The current study is the largest to date, indicating an increased risk of hypocalcemia after thyroidectomy in patients taking proton pump inhibitors.
