Stabilizing Plasmodium falciparum proteins for small molecule drug discovery

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Early‐stage drug discovery relies on the availability of stable protein for reliable biophysical characterization of ligand binding. However, many Plasmodium falciparum proteins are challenging to produce in heterologous systems, which limits their experimental utility.

In Situ Transmission Electron Microscopy Study of Titanium–Steel Heterostructure: Real‐Time Analysis of Interfacial Fracture Evolution

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Titanium (Ti)–steel composite joints are prone to the formation of compounds such as TiC, TiFe, and TiFe2 during solid‐phase bonding. This phenomenon leads to premature failure and significantly reduces the bonding quality of the joints. However, the fracture behavior of the joint influenced by these compounds, particularly on the initiation ...

MXene 3D‐AJP: Three‐Dimensional Well‐Oriented Freeform Networks of 2D MXene Nanosheets via Aerosol‐Based 3D Printing

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 36, 26 June 2026.
This study presents an additive‐free aerosol jet 3D printing technique for assembling 2D MXene nanosheets into complex, customizable, high‐aspect‐ratio 3D microarchitectures without binders. By leveraging real‐time ink thickening, the authors also fabricate 3D microsupercapacitors with interdigitated electrodes that holds breakthrough device areal ...

Promotion of 211 MAX Phase Formation through Bismuth A‐Site Solid Solution in Ti2(Al1‐xBix)C

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Bi incorporation in the Ti–Al–C system stabilizes the 211 MAX phase across a wide synthesis window, suppressing competing 312 formation. The resulting Ti2(Al1‐xBix)C enables robust and scalable production of phase‐pure 211 precursors, while preserving the structural and functional characteristics of derived MXenes, demonstrating a practical route to ...

Biodiesel Production From Canola Oil by Titanium Dioxide‐Photocatalysed Transesterification

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 6, June 2026.
Photocatalytic transesterification of canola oil over TiO2 under UVA irradiation enables biodiesel production under mild conditions. Yields up to 73% FAME and 38% FAEE were achieved, with negative Gibbs free energy (ΔG < 0) confirming thermodynamic favourability.
