The Tidal Flats of Königshafen
1985Hypotheses and generalizations put forward by ecologists are tacitly biased by the kind of ecosystem they are best acquainted with. This is probably inevitable. In this chapter I disclose my personal background: the tidal flats of Konigshafen, a sheltered bay on the island of Sylt in the eastern part of the North Sea (Fig. 5.1).
