Relevance of the College of American Pathologists guideline for validating whole slide imaging for diagnostic purposes to cytopathology. [PDF]
To date, the application of WSI to cytopathology has been beyond the scope of the CAP guideline, due to limited evidence. Whilst the CAP guideline for WSI validation in clinical practice helped the widespread adoption of digital pathology, more evidence is required to routinely employ WSI for diagnostic purposes in cytopathology practice.

The Swedish Scandinavian donations and transfusions database (SCANDAT3-S) - 50 years of donor and recipient follow-up. [PDF]
Abstract Background The two previous versions of the Scandinavian donations and transfusions (SCANDAT) databases, encompassing data on blood donors, blood components, transfusions, and transfused patients linked to national health registers in Sweden and Denmark up until 2012, have been used to study donor health, disease transmission, the role of ...

Fluid balance-adjusted creatinine in diagnosing acute kidney injury in the critically ill. [PDF]
Abstract Background Acute kidney injury (AKI) is often diagnosed based on plasma creatinine (Cr) only. Adjustment of Cr for cumulative fluid balance due to potential dilution of Cr and subsequently missed Cr‐based diagnosis of AKI has been suggested, albeit the physiological rationale for these adjustments is questionable.

Frequency of apical periodontitis in root-filled teeth restored with post and core: A 5-year retrospective study. [PDF]
Abstract Background In conjunction with post placement in root‐filled teeth with periapical healthy conditions, root canal retreatment may be performed to improve the seal of the root canal. Whether root canal retreatment for technical reasons (retreatments in teeth without apical periodontitis (AP)) results in lower frequency of AP is unknown ...

Abstract Background Many patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) need repeated red blood cell transfusions which entails a risk of immunization and antibody formation. Associations between alloantibodies, autoantibodies and increased transfusion requirements have been reported, but their relationship remains unclear.

Abstract Background Single shot spinal (SSS) provides effective analgesia for multiparous parturients during advanced labour. Its utility in early labour or primiparous parturients may be limited by the insufficient duration of action. Regardless, SSS may offer a reasonable labour analgesia option in certain clinical scenarios.

Abstract Including different forms of knowledges and views in decision‐making is crucial to managing the complexity of social–ecological systems (SES) in ways that are inclusive and embrace diversity. Sense of place scholarship can explain subjectivity in SES; however, it has hardly been considered together with the literature on knowledge processes ...

Mutualism and the dynamics of new platform creation: A study of Cisco and fog computing
Abstract Research summary How firms respond to the emergence of dominant platforms that undermine their competitiveness remains a strategic puzzle. Our longitudinal study shows how one incumbent, Cisco, responded to such a challenge by creating a new platform, Fog, without undermining the dominant platform, Cloud, where it played a complementor role ...

Relationships between above‐ground plant traits and carbon cycling in tundra plant communities
Average plant height, average leaf traits, and the within‐community variabilities of height and leaf traits affect CO2 fluxes and carbon stocks in tundra plant communities. The importance of within‐community trait variability highlights a potentially important mechanism controlling the vast tundra carbon pools that should be better recognized. Abstract
