Quantitative assessment of the sweet spot in marine shale oil and gas based on geology, engineering, and economics: A case study from the Eagle Ford Shale, USA

open access: yesEnergy Strategy Reviews, 2021
Shale oil and gas have become important areas of petroleum exploration and development. Successful shale oil and gas exploration depends on the accurate evaluation of sweet spots, which are the commercial targets.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Oil Prices and the Impact of Rising Economies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
•The first commercial oil well was drilled in Romania in 1857, since then oil has been playing a crucial role in the global economy. •High oil prices can slow economic growth, cause inflationary pressures and create global imbalances.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Reservoir and development characteristics of the Da'anzhai tight oil in Sichuan Basin, SW China

open access: yesPetroleum Research, 2019
The oil in the Jurassic Da'anzhai reservoirs in the Sichuan Basin is unconventional tight oil, which accumulated in or near source rocks, and did not experience extensive migration in a large-scale long distance. The first submember, second submember and

A comparative study of geological conditions of tight oils in China and USA

open access: yesShiyou shiyan dizhi, 2022
On the basis of formulating and perfecting the definition and connotation of tight oil, a comparative study was carried out on the basin formation, hydrocarbon generation, hydrocarbon preservation and reservoir formation for 9 tight oil basins of China ...

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

The occurrence of tight oil in the Chang 8 lacustrine sandstone of the Huaqing area, Ordos Basin, China: Insights into the content of adsorbed oil and its controlling factors

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience, 2022
Tight oil is a great potential resource for unconventional oil exploration and development. Determining the content of adsorbed tight oil in sandstone reservoirs and the factors controlling its content is crucial for the evaluation and development of ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.
