Measurements of Luminosity in ATLAS with Tile Calorimeter

open access: yes, 2020
Luminosity measurements in ATLAS are provided primarily by LUCID detector, but rely on other detectors for determining the systematics associated with this measurement. The Tile Calorimeter, the central hadronic calorimeter at the ATLAS experiment, plays

Self‐Powered Bearing Sensing and Real‐Time Fault Diagnosis Enabled by Non‐Invasive Triboelectric Sensors and Edge AI Acceleration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study achieves the synergistic integration of self‐powered sensing and edge AI acceleration to establish a real‐time fault diagnosis system. The proposed TENG‐based self‐powered bearing sensor (NSE‐TBS) and FPGA‐accelerated edge AI framework fundamentally break through the inherent limitations of conventional monitoring systems, including complex ...

Undecidability of Translational Tiling with Three Tiles

open access: yesCoRR
Is there a fixed dimension $n$ such that translational tiling of $\mathbb{Z}^n$ with a monotile is undecidable? Several recent results support a positive answer to this question. Greenfeld and Tao disprove the periodic tiling conjecture by showing that an aperiodic monotile exists in sufficiently high dimension $n$ [Ann. Math. 200(2024), 301-363].

Boosting Sensory Nerve‐to‐Bone Interactions Enhances Hedgehog Mediated Calvarial Bone Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Boosting sensory nerve activity via TrkA agonism strongly accelerates calvarial bone repair in adult mice. Furthermore, single‐cell RNA sequencing and neuron–bone interactome analyses identify these sensory neurons as a direct neural source of Hedgehog pathway ligands. Consequently, these ligands drive osteoblast differentiation of skeletal progenitors,

Study on the Correlation between Humidity and Material Strains in Separable Micro Humidity Sensor Design

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Incidents of injuries caused by tiles falling from building exterior walls are frequently reported in Taiwan. Humidity is an influential factor in tile deterioration but it is more difficult to measure the humidity inside a building structure than the ...

Topology‐Enriched Toughness Enhancement in Quasi‐Periodic Metastructures Featuring Tailorable Strong‐Weak Network

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A quasi‐periodic Dart‐Kite (QDK) metastructure with a golden‐ratio‐constrained strong–weak bond network simultaneously enhances strength, toughness, and damage tolerance. Its distributed topology enables predictable, tailorable crack paths for precise fracture control and stable mechanics, demonstrating a high‐performance, controllable architecture ...

Répartition chronologique des modénatures d’encadrements et évolution des formes de cartouches dans les cantons de Vaud et de Neuchâtel (Suisse)

open access: yesIn Situ, 2012
In the Swiss cantons of Neuchâtel and Vaud, the inscriptions and decors identified during inventory campaigns are extremely rich and varied. A selection of examples allow us to characterise them here.

Tile-in-One: An integrated system for data quality and conditions assessment for the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter

open access: yes, 2019
The Tile Calorimeter (TileCal) is a crucial part of the ATLAS detector which jointly with other calorimeters reconstructs hadrons, jets, tau-particles, missing transverse energy and assists in muon identification.
