Numerical Modeling of Photothermal Self‐Excited Composite Oscillators
We present a numerical framework for simulating photothermal self‐excited oscillations. The driving mechanism is elucidated by highlighting the roles of inertia and overshoot, as well as the phase lag between the thermal moment and the oscillation angle, which together construct the feedback loop between the system state and the environmental stimulus.

Astrocyte Enrichment of 3D Cortical Constructs Enhances Brain Repair
This study highlights the role of astrocytes in supporting neural progenitor cell survival and differentiation after traumatic brain injury. Astrocytes enhanced neuronal differentiation, improved cell survival in co‐cultures, and promoted integration of microfluidics‐based implants with host tissue following implantation. Additionally, increased axonal

THE CONTEMPORARY AZULEJO: AN IDENTITY ISSUE?
One of the aspects that has supported the idea of the azulejo (tile) as a cultural heritage of the Portuguese identity is its continuous employment since the end of the fifteenth century until today, now having become a part of the projects of artists ...

An Analysis of the Role of Tile-Drained Farmland Under Alternative Nitrogen Abatement Policies [PDF]
Agricultural nitrogen is a major contributor to Gulf of Mexico hypoxia, and research has shown that agricultural subsurface tile drainage is a major carrier of nitrogen from croplands to streams and rivers.

This study employs longitudinal fluorescence imaging in transgenic mice to map post‐craniotomy cortical recovery. We identify distinct neuroimmune recovery phases: microglial structural inflammation peaks at ∼10 days, neuronal structural intensity peaks at ∼14 days and correlates with microglial activity, and functional network modularity is most ...

Mid‐infrared optoacoustic microscopy (MiROM) acquires lipid‐ and protein‐ associated vibrational contrast in intact fat tissue without dyes, preserving native tissue architecture. Through lateral and axial segmentation, MiROM tracks intrinsic intracellular changes during postnatal remodeling. A quantitative spatial analysis tool (Q‐SAT) maps white‐ and

Proposed dynamic phase difference method for the detection of tile debonding from the space shuttle orbiter [PDF]
A noncontracting, semi-global, dynamic technique was developed for detecting loose tiles on the space shuttle orbiter. In laboratory tests on a single tile, the substrate was excited into lateral motion at a constant frequency and amplitude of 2g.

Tilings With Very Elastic Tiles
We consider tiles of some fixed size, with an associated weighting on the shapes of tile, of total mass 1. We study the pressure, $p$, of tilings with those tiles; the pressure, one over the volume times the logarithm of the partition function. (The quantity we define as "pressure" could, perhaps equally harmoniously with physics notation, be called ...
