Deep and narrow gullies dissecting reliefs of the Southern French Alps are filled with 10's to 100's meters thick accumulation of unsorted, boulder-rich muddy material (i.e., diamicton) left behind by glaciers that repeatedly covered the region during ...

Multi‐trait genome‐wide association mapping identifies a central hub regulator, COLD AND CATECHINS REGULATOR 1 (CCR1), and its excellent natural allele variation, coordinately enhancing cold tolerance and promoting catechins biosyntheis. CsCCR1 interacts with CsCBF1/3 and is transcriptionally activated by CsLUX and CsKUA1 to promote catechins ...

LRRK2‐mutant induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) were derived from a patient with Parkinson's disease (PD). Using CRISPR/Cas9–mediated gene editing, the pathogenic LRRK2 mutations were precisely corrected, and isogenic dopaminergic neural progenitor cells (DA‐NPCs) were subsequently generated.

SiDT1 Defines Plant Architecture Reminiscent of Green Revolution in Foxtail Millet
SiDT1 encodes a GA3‐oxidase that creates a semi‐dwarf, lodging‐resistant architecture reminiscent of the rice Green Revolution. The resulting ideotype performs well under dense planting and provides a valuable genetic resource for high‐yield, mechanized foxtail millet production. ABSTRACT Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is a drought‐tolerant C4 cereal

No-till can often increase soil carbon, soil quality and function, and reduce CO2 emissions when compared to conventional tilling practices. Soil microbial biomass increases (+37 percent), including both fungal (+31 percent) and bacterial biomass (+11 percent), in top 20-cm soils under no-till agro-ecosystems, but not in sandy soils.

SummaryTargeting induced local lesions in genomes (TILLING), initially a functional genomics tool in model plants, has been extended to many plant species and become of paramount importance to reverse genetics in crops species. Because it is readily applicable to most plants, it remains a dominant non‐transgenic method for obtaining mutations in known ...

Cation Diffusion‐Mediated Displaced Reaction‐Transformation in Green Steelmaking
The removal of O lattice atoms by environmental H2 at the surface of Fe3O4 results in Fe enrichment, driving the inward diffusion of Fe cations into the bulk. Through hopping between unoccupied and initially occupied sites, cation diffusion triggers a spatially displaced reaction‐transformation and drives subsequent dynamic phase transformations and ...

A cytokinin pathway transcription factor, RR2b, was artificially selected during soybean domestication and improvement based on its differential transcriptional activity, which correlates with ATT repeat polymorphisms in its promoter. RR2b balances yield and defense by fine‐tuning its expression level and offers a promising target for decoupling trade ...
