Control of the epiphytic weeds Tillandsia recurvata and Tillandsia aëranthos with different herbicides

Forest Ecology and Management, 1993
Abstract The population of the epiphytic weeds Tillandsia recurvata and Tillandsia aeranthos on forestry and ornamental trees in different areas of Argentina has increased, causing deleterious effects on their hosts. As a result, an experiment was performed to control these epiphytes with different herbicides.

Exploring genomic relationships in Tillandsia subgenus Tillandsia

2019

Chemical constituents from Tillandsia recurvata

Fitoterapia, 2004
The CHCl3 extract of Tillandsia recurvata yielded 5,3'-dihydroxy-6,7,8,4'-tetramethoxyflavanone (1), 1,3-di-O-cinnamoyl-glycerol (2) and ethyl ester of caffeic acid. Their structures were elucidated by means of spectroscopic methods such as mass spectroscopy and 1 and 2D-NMR.

Triterpenoids from Tillandsia fasciculata

Journal of Natural Products, 2001
The leaves of Tillandsia fasciculata afforded four tetracyclic triterpenoids of the cycloartane type, two new compounds identified as cyclolaudenyl formate (2) and the (24S)-24-isopropenyl cycloartanone, which we named tillandsinone (1), and the known cyclolaudenone (3) and cyclolaudenol (4).

Hydroperoxycycloartanes from Tillandsia recurvata

Journal of Natural Products, 1995
25-Hydroperoxycycloart-23-en-3β-ol [1] and an epimeric mixture of 24-hydroperoxycycloart-25-en-3β-ol[2] have been isolated from Tillandsia recurvata. The structures of compounds 1 and 2 have been established by spectral analysis and chemical conversion to the corresponding diols.

Multielement determination in Tillandsia by INAA

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1987
Instrumental neutron activation analysis was employed to measure 43 elements, including some macroconstituents, in the leaves of some species of the epiphytic genusTillandsia (Bromeliaceae). The results, confirming the oligotrophyc nature of the genus, are briefly discussed with regard to a possible role as multielemental environmental monitors.
