Tiller Length vs. Tiller Weight: Applications to Plant Growth Studies [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Range Management, 1981
The growth and development of individual grass tillers is frequently monitored in intensive studies of plant response to treatments or environmental parameters. Since growth may be recognized as an increase in tiller weight or tiller length over time, knowledge of the relationship between them is important if researchers are to select the measure most ...

Role of the Recombination Zone in Organic Light‐Emitting Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the critical role of the recombination zone in organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs). We highlight that broadening the recombination zone in OLEDs based on emissive layers with balanced charge transport and high photoluminescence quantum yields provides a promising route toward achieving both long operational lifetime and high ...

Effects of regulated aerated irrigation on growth and yield of rice

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao
【Objective】 Soil anaerobicity is a common abiotic stress in fine-textured soils that adversely affects crop growth. Aerated irrigation, achieved by adding air bubbles to irrigation water, is a technique to mitigate soil anaerobicity.

Two‐Photon 3D Printing of Functional Microstructures Inside Living Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates 3D printing inside living cells by using two‐photon photo‐lithography. A bio‐compatible photoresist is injected into cells and selectively polymerized with a femtosecond laser, creating custom‐shaped intracellular structures with submicron resolution.

Why Is the Mechanism Underlying the Chiral‐Induced Selectivity Effect Still Challenging?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) effect is observed in many experimental configurations and for different materials. However, there are theoretical challenges in attempting to explain those results. A qualitative framework for explaining all the results is presented.

Tillering behavior in oryza sativa L. VII. Relation between tiller age and panicle formation in the individual tillers.

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Crop Science, 1990
The relation between tiller age 'Yourei' and panicle growth stage (PS) in each tiller was investigated. Yourei is a scale of plant age expressed by leaf number. The first decimal place indicates the ratio of the length of the emerged part of the expanding leaf blade to its expected final length. Plants (cv.

Highly Resolved Community Sewage Metagenomics Unveiling Landscape and Transmission Patterns of Antibiotic Resistome in Hong Kong Populations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A large‐scale, high‐resolution antimicrobial resistance (AMR) surveillance in Hong Kong community sewage combining short‐ and long‐read sequencing. The resistome profile is comprehensively characterized, and this upstream sampling strategy demonstrated superiority in reflecting the human gut resistome.
