Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Gender differences in circulatory adjustment to head-up tilt test in health
Background: A tilt table test is a useful, non-invasive technique that has been used for the last few decades to detect autonomic failure. The response to tilting may vary physiologically between sexes.

The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...

Assessment of quadratic nonlinear cardiorespiratory couplings during tilt table test by means of real wavelet biphase [PDF]
In this paper a method for assessment of Quadratic Phase Coupling (QPC) between respiration and Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is presented. Methods: First, a method for QPC detection is proposed named Real Wavelet Biphase (RWB).
