Polarization Effects in Tilted Fiber Bragg Grating Refractometers

Journal of Lightwave Technology, 2010
The polarization effects in tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) refractometers are investigated theoretically. The polarization effects may degrade the sensor performance greatly, and should be considered to achieve high-precision surrounding refractive index (SRI) measurement.

Shaping the radiation field of tilted fiber Bragg gratings

Journal of the Optical Society of America B, 2005
Over the past several years polarization-sensitive mode-coupling characteristics of tilted fiber Bragg gratings have been exploited for the development of a number of useful devices, including fiber polarimeters, gain flattening filters, spectrum analyzers, and polarization-dependent-loss compensators. Although a variety of tools are available to model

Temperature-insensitive fiber Bragg grating tilt sensor

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
A novel fiber Bragg grating (FBG) tilt sensor is proposed to detect the magnitude as well as the direction of a twodimensional inclination by using four FBGs. High angle sensitivity and measurement resolution has been achieved and the temperature effect has been eliminated completely without additional temperature compensation schemes.

Enzymatic tilted fiber Bragg grating for glucose biosensing

26th International Conference on Optical Fiber Sensors, 2018
We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a label-free biosensor based on enzyme-immobilized tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) for low concentration glucose detection by using the fine spectrum structure of the TFBG.

Temperature-independent demodulation technique for fiber Bragg grating strain sensors using a tilted fiber Bragg grating

Technical Digest. Summaries of Papers Presented at the Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics. Conference Edition. 1998 Technical Digest Series, Vol.6 (IEEE Cat. No.98CH36178), 1998
We experimentally demonstrated a tilted fibre Bragg grating (FBG) demodulator that has a simple and compact scheme. Using this, wavelength-encoded information from a dual head strain sensor is demodulated with high stability and accuracy, independent of temperature perturbation at both sensor and demodulator FBG.

Femtosecond laser direct writing tilted fiber Bragg gratings in multicore fiber

Optics Letters
In this Letter, we propose a new method utilizing femtosecond laser direct writing technology to rapidly inscribe high-quality tilted fiber Bragg gratings (TFBGs) in multicore fibers (MCFs). A series of TFBGs with varying tilt angles were directly inscribed in MCFs using the Plane-by-Plane (Pl-by-Pl) method, and the writing time for a 4 mm long TFBG ...
