Anti-windup compensator design for power system subjected to time-delay and actuator saturation

open access: yesIET Smart Grid, 2018
In this study, a delay-dependent anti-windup compensator (AWC) is designed for supplementary damping control (SDC) of flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) device to enhance the damping of inter-area oscillations

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.

Time Interference Alignment via Delay Offset for Long Delay Networks

open access: yes, 2011
The potential of Time Interference Alignment is investigated in this work, with particular reference to the attainable degrees of freedom. The K-user interference channel is considered, in which transmitters and receivers are placed randomly in a ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

SMC design for robust H∞ control of uncertain stochastic delay systems

open access: yes, 2010
Recently, sliding mode control method has been extended to accommodate stochastic systems. However, the existing results employ an assumption that may be too restrictive for many stochastic systems.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Lumped time-delay compensation scheme for coding synchronization in the nonlinear spectral quantization-based all-optical analog-to-digital conversion

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper, we propose a novel lumped time-delay compensation scheme for the all-optical analog-to-digital conversion based on soliton self-frequency shift and optical interconnection techniques.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Apple Leaf Disease Recognition Based on Optoelectronic Time-Delay Reservoir Computing

open access: yesIEEE Access
The performance of an optoelectronic reservoir computing (RC) system for recognizing apple leaf diseases is numerically investigated. The disease spot feature extraction and selection methods suitable for time-delay RC are investigated.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
