An Online Updating Approach for Testing the Proportional Hazards Assumption with Streams of Big Survival Data

open access: yes, 2018
The Cox model, which remains as the first choice in analyzing time-to-event data even for large datasets, relies on the proportional hazards assumption. When the data size exceeds the computer memory, the standard statistics for testing the proportional ...

Pre‐Encoded IFN‐I Sensitivity Exacerbates Memory T Cell Senescence in Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Type I interferon (IFN‐I) signaling promotes p21‐dependent cell cycle arrest in senescent tumor‐specific memory T cells, resulting in poor proliferative responses and solid tumor regression during cancer vaccination. Conversely, IFNα/β receptor blockade reinvigorates T cell proliferation to regress solid tumors and is more effective with increasing ...

Interactions of Antibody Drug Conjugate Anti‐Tubulin and Topoisomerase I Inhibitor Payloads with Radiotherapy to Potentiate Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Antibody drug conjugates deliver their cytotoxic anti‐tubulin or topoisomerase I inhibitor payloads to tumors through cancer cell receptor targeting. The released drug payloads induce cellular changes that interact with radiotherapy resulting in radiosensitization that improves cancer cell kill and stimulates anti‐tumor immune responses.

A time-dependent predictive model for cardiocerebral vascular events in chronic hemodialysis patients: insights from a prospective study

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
ContextThe conventional risk factors for cardiocerebral vascular events (CVCs) in non-Hemodialysis (HD) patients cannot be directly applied to HD patients due to the unique characteristics of this population.

Penalized variable selection procedure for Cox models with semiparametric relative risk

open access: yes, 2010
We study the Cox models with semiparametric relative risk, which can be partially linear with one nonparametric component, or multiple additive or nonadditive nonparametric components.

PD‐1 Inhibits CD4+ TRM‐Mediated cDC1 Mobilization via Suppressing JAML in Human NSCLC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CD4+ tissue‐resident memory T cells (TRMs) in non‐small cell lung cancer recruit conventional type 1 dendritic cells via XCL1‐XCR1 signaling, orchestrating antitumor immunity. The costimulatory molecule JAML is essential for this process. PD‐1 blockade restores JAML expression and cDC1 mobilization, while JAML agonists synergize with anti‐PD‐1 therapy,

Asymptotic theory for the Cox model with missing time-dependent covariate

open access: yes, 2006
The relationship between a time-dependent covariate and survival times is usually evaluated via the Cox model. Time-dependent covariates are generally available as longitudinal data collected regularly during the course of the study.

Targeting UXS1‐Dependent Glucuronate Detoxification Potentiates Metformin's Anti‐Tumor Efficacy in Lung Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that metformin promotes glucuronic acid metabolism in lung adenocarcinoma by activating UGDH S476 phosphorylation and enhancing the conversion of UDPG to UDPGA based on metabolomics analysis. Through compound virtual screening, it is found that plantainoside targeting UGDH downstream UXS1 leads to UDPGA toxicity accumulation ...

The Effect of Time-dependent Prognostic Factors on Survival of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer using Bayesian Extended Cox Model

open access: yesعلوم بهداشتی ایران, 2020
Background: Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers around the world. The aim of this study was to use Extended Cox Model (ECM) with Bayesian approach to survey the behavior of potential time-varying prognostic factors of Non-small cell lung cancer.

Dynamic Predictions with Time-Dependent Covariates in Survival Analysis using Joint Modeling and Landmarking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A key question in clinical practice is accurate prediction of patient prognosis. To this end, nowadays, physicians have at their disposal a variety of tests and biomarkers to aid them in optimizing medical care.
