Time-Difference-of-Arrival (TDOA)-Based Distributed Target Localization by A Robotic Network
IEEE Transactions on Control of Network Systems, 2020Localization and tracking of a moving target arises in many different contexts and is of particular interest in the field of robotic networks. One important class of localization schemes exploits the time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) of a signal emitted by the target and detected by multiple sensors.

Distributed time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA)-based localization of a moving target
2016 IEEE 55th Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2016Localization and tracking of a moving target has been established as a key problem in wireless sensor networks, with many algorithms being proposed in this area. In particular, time-difference of arrival (TDOA) localization is considered to be a cost-effective and accurate localization technique.

Direction-of-arrival methods (DOA) and time difference of arrival (TDOA) position location technique
Proceedings of the Twenty-Second National Radio Science Conference, 2005. NRSC 2005., 2005This paper provides a detailed overview of the various methods for estimation of direction-of-arrival (also called angle-of-arrival) of a radio signal using an antenna array. The array-based directional-of-arrival (DOA) estimation techniques considered here are broadly divided into two different types: conventional techniques, and subspace based ...

Multi-cycle estimator for time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) and its performance
IEE Proceedings - Radar, Sonar and Navigation, 2006Single-cycle time-difference-of-arrival estimator utilises signal's cyclostationarity property of only one cycle frequency. A new approach exploiting the signal's cyclostationarity property of more than one cycle frequency is introduced. Compared with the single-cycle estimator, the method can reduce more estimation variance. The qualitative discussion

In the past various solutions for localization evolved to productive usage for wireless applications. These solutions are robust, precise and energy efficient. However, scalability, complexity and flexibility are still open issues. Especially the supported number of objects or update rates for localization are still limiting factors for the usage of ...

Improvement of the Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) Estimation of GSM Signals Using Wavelets
2000Abstract : The problem of localization of wireless emitters (GSM based) using time difference of arrival (TDOA) techniques is studied. The wavelet transform and denoising techniques are used to increase the accuracy of the TDOA estimate. GSM like signals are simulated using the Hewlett-Packard Advanced Designs System (HP-ADS) software.

Abstract : The localization of mobile wireless communication units using time difference of arrival (TDOA) is studied. The wavelet transform is used to increase the accuracy of TDOA estimation. Several denoising techniques based on the wavelet transform are presented.
