Indoor distance estimation by using time of arrival
Nowadays, researches about indoor positioning is very popular. Estimating location of a communication node can be used in navigation in a shopping mall or tracking in a work place, etc. In applications without a reference point, relative location of the nodes is preferred.

Semi-coherent time of arrival estimation using regression
Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012Time of arrival (ToA) estimation is essential for many types of remote sensing applications including radar, sonar, and underground exploration. The standard method for ToA estimation employs a matched filter for computing the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) for ToA.

Time of arrival based location estimation for cooperative relay networks
In this paper, we investigate the performance of a cooperative relay network performing location estimation through time of arrival (TOA). We derive Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) for the location estimates using the relay network. The analysis is extended to obtain average CRLB considering the signal fluctuations in both relay and direct links.

Integration Model for Estimated Time of Arrival
Proceedings of the 29th International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2021Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) plays a vital role in many application scenarios. For example, in various scenarios such as online car-hailing order distribution, price estimation, mid-trip estimation, and route decision-making. Accurate arrival time estimation can help the platform improve efficiency.

The Impact of Multipath Information on Time-of-Arrival Estimation
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2022Time-of-arrival (TOA) based localization plays a central role in current and future localization systems. Such systems, exploiting the fine delay resolution properties of wideband and ultra-wideband (UWB) signals, are particularly attractive for ranging under harsh propagation conditions in which significant multipath may be present.

Time-to-arrival estimations to simulated pedestrians
Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2020Driving a vehicle requires individuals' awareness of their surroundings to prevent collisions with other vehicles, objects, and pedestrians. While previous research has investigated time-to-arrival (TTA) in real-world and simulated driving situations, there is little information on how pedestrian reflectance and time of day impact TTA.

Time-of-arrival estimation for blind beamforming
2013 18th International Conference on Digital Signal Processing (DSP), 2013Ad-hoc arrays formed by mobile devices are increasingly available to capture audio and video in social events. Using spatial signal processing algorithms, e.g., beamforming, with microphone signals of such arrays is hindered by the unknown locations of the devices and the lack of temporal synchronization between them. While self-calibration methods can

Interference Mitigation for Time of Arrival Estimation
2010 IEEE Wireless Communication and Networking Conference, 2010In indoor environments, geolocation using Time of Arrival (TOA) estimation must use a wide bandwidth to overcome the effects of multipath propagation. Narrowband interference from other applications is a significant problem. In this paper we investigate a number of signal processing schemes to detect and overcome one or more relatively narrowband ...

Intelligent time of arrival estimation
2011 IEEE Forum on Integrated and Sustainable Transportation Systems, 2011Traditional time-of-arrival estimation techniques are often used in advanced transportation systems such as in-car navigation systems and fleet management systems. These techniques tend to neglect certain categories of context when estimating a vehicle's time-of-arrival at a given destination. Particularly important categories of such neglected context
