Neutron time-of-flight spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, 1993
The time-of-flight technique is employed in two of the instruments at the NIST Cold Neutron Research Facility (CNRF). A pulsed monochromatic beam strikes the sample, and the energies of scattered neutrons are determined from their times-of-flight to an array of detectors.

Multipath Interference Suppression in Time-of-Flight Sensors by Exploiting the Amplitude Envelope of the Transmission Signal

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Time-of-flight (ToF) cameras provide depth information and they have been applied in many areas. However, multipath interference (MpI) affects the depth measurements. This article proposes an algorithm to suppress MpI during ToF camera depth measurements

Background Subtraction for Time of Flight Imaging

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2017
A time of flight camera provides two types of images simultaneously, depth and intensity. In this paper a computational method for background subtraction, combining both images or fast sequences of images, is proposed.

A Single-Shot Non-Line-of-Sight Range-Finder

open access: yesSensors, 2019
The ability to locate a target around a corner is crucial in situations where it is impractical or unsafe to physically move around the obstruction. However, current techniques are limited to long acquisition times as they rely on single-photon counting ...

Ion-Pair Formation in Neutral Potassium-Neutral Pyrimidine Collisions: Electron Transfer Experiments

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2019
We report novel data on ion-pair formation in hyperthermal (30–800 eV) neutral potassium collisions with neutral pyrimidine (Pyr, C4H4N2) molecules. In this collision regime, negative ions formed by electron transfer from the alkali atom to the target ...

Picosecond precision time‐of‐flight digital converter

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2017
Time‐of‐flight (TOF) digital converter implemented in field programmable gate array has been introduced. The operation is based on train of pulses transmission and counting received pulses in bank of counters.

Pulse Based Time-of-Flight Range Sensing

open access: yesSensors, 2018
Pulse-based Time-of-Flight (PB-ToF) cameras are an attractive alternative range imaging approach, compared to the widely commercialized Amplitude Modulated Continuous-Wave Time-of-Flight (AMCW-ToF) approach.
