Enhancement of Near-Infrared Sensitivity in Silicon-Based Image Sensors to Oblique Chief Rays via Quasi-Surface Plasmon Resonance

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society
A silicon-based image sensor is proposed, incorporating plasmonic diffraction gratings tailored to chief ray angles (CRAs), to enhance near-infrared (NIR) sensitivity improvement over a broad range of incident angles.

Improved syntheses of high hole mobility phthalocyanines: A case of steric assistance in the cyclo-oligomerisation of phthalonitriles

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012
It has been shown that the base-initiated cyclo-oligomerisation of phthalonitriles is favoured by bulky α-substituents making it possible to obtain the metal-free phthalocyanine directly and in high yield.

Two Capacitive Micro-Machined Ultrasonic Transducers for Wind Speed Measurement

open access: yesSensors, 2016
This paper presents a new wind speed measurement method using a single capacitive micro-machined ultrasonic transducer (CMUT). The CMUT was arranged perpendicular to the direction of the wind flow, and a reflector was set up a short distance away, facing

Importin 7 mediates the nuclear import of HIV‐1 integrase via a specific interacting interface

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
HIV‐1 integrase enables viral DNA integration into the host genome. By binding to the core domain of the host protein Importin 7 via its C‐terminal domain, the integrase is transported across the nuclear membrane into the nucleus, where integration of the viral genome into host DNA takes place. This translocation is a critical step for subsequent viral

Planar Gas Expansion under Intensive Nanosecond Laser Evaporation into Vacuum as Applied to Time-of-Flight Analysis

open access: yesEntropy, 2022
A computational investigation of the dynamics of gas expansion due to intense nanosecond laser evaporation into vacuum has been carried out. The problem is solved in a one-dimensional approximation, which simplifies calculations and at the same time ...

Optimizing photoexcitation conditions for time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering experiments

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering (TR‐XSS) is a powerful technique to visualize how proteins change their structure in real time after light activation. Selecting the right laser photoexcitation conditions—fluence, excitation geometry, and sample refresh rate—is critical to maximize the experimental signal while avoiding unwanted side effects ...

MARK4 enhances stress granule formation under oxidative stress and increases tau accumulation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MARK4 (red dots) localizes to stress granules (orange dots) and promotes their formation under oxidative stress by modulating TIA1 (blue dots). MARK4 and TIA1 synergistically increase tau (purple) accumulation, and the reduction of the TIA1 ortholog suppresses neurodegeneration in a fly model.

Towards a Multi-Perspective Time of Flight Laser Ranging Device Based on Mirrors and Prisms

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper investigates the feasibility of redirecting the field of view (FOV) of a light-based time-of-flight (ToF) ranging device, commonly known as a pulsed lidar, using fixed mirrors and prisms for possible future use in robotics.

High‐Resolution MRI Revealed Different Etiology‐Specific Associations With Cerebral Infarction in Adult Moyamoya Vasculopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective High‐resolution MRI enables detailed assessment of intracranial vessel wall pathology in moyamoya vasculopathy. We aimed to classify adult moyamoya vasculopathy etiologies using high‐resolution MRI and to examine subtype‐specific associations between high‐resolution MRI features and ischemic infarction.
